Relay for Life!

The Relay for Life walk just started today at 3pm. Barb and I went down there to see some of the people that we knew and I was very moved by what I saw. This is the first event like this that I have been to, and it was moving. It's a gorgeous day, the sun is out and it's not too hot. There are tents all around the St. Johns High School track, banners with faces to remember, T-shirts with names of those we honor and those that have survived.

I went to see the middle school kids. They have worked very hard to honor Kelsey's life. They have dedicated a corner in their school in honor of Kelsey, and today they walk to honor her. These girls are amazing, and with smiles on their faces they all walked together around the track holding a banner with their cherished friend's images on it. The thing that gets me is that every person walking around that track has a story too. I am just thankful that there are so many people that are willing to share their stories and remember and honor those that have passed. They are not forgotten.
