New Friends

I just wanted to dedicate this entry to all the friends that we hung out with at PPA! Heather, Bryan Cox, Bryan Welsh and Allison Watkins and Angela Talentino...it was great to hang out with you and get to know all of you better.

The great thing about being a photographer is the relationships that we create. And although we love the relationships that we have created with our clients, we truly grow from the people we have met that are photographers. It's a blessing to have people in our lives that have the same passions that we do. And to have the opportunity to share and grow with photographers from all over the world is a wonderful gift!
I look forward to seeing all of you again soon!

Winter Blast

Andrew, Emily and I came down to San Antonio this week to go to PPA (Professional Photography of America) We were hoping for warm weather, but instead we got a big winter storm! Well BIG for TEXAS!
On Monday it started getting cold and rainy and by the evening everything was closed! It was the chance that it was going to freeze that got everyone scared. They closed roads, restaurants and shops! So everyone stayed in their hotel lobbies to hang out and visit.

Tuesday morning we get a call from Northwest saying that our flights were canceled and now we weren't scheduled to leave until Thursday. This is when the panic struck. By the time the first seminar was over, everyone was on the cell phones trying to make arrangements. Hotels were booked up and prices were sky-rocketing. Flights were rescheduled all the way out to Saturday and photographers everywhere were panicking. We have sessions, weddings, team pictures... but most of all family members expecting us to be home mid-week!

Andrew and Emily got a flight out yesterday and since I have friends here, I decided to stay one more night and hang out. So for me the storm was a great excuse to have an extended trip and to get to see my friends one more time.
Overall I would say that we had a great trip, made some awesome NEW friends and had a great time catching up with our old friends!

See you Tuesday!!

A New Place for A New Year!

SIP IT!

I just wanted to let everyone know about a great NEW little coffee place.
It's called SIP IT and it's located on Marsh Rd in the Sav-a-Lot parking lot.(Near Bus. 69)
It's a drive thru coffee hut that has great coffee and wonderful fast service.
It's so nice not to have to get out of my warm car, freeze to death on the walk into a coffee house and then wait in line for my coffee and then freeze to death getting back to my car and then waiting for it to warm up again! You know what I mean?

So anyway, go and visit this great new place. It's perfect on the way to work, and perfect on the way home from work. And it's even better if you're coming to visit us because you can get a coffee for the road! By the way, my favorite is a white chocolate mocha...just in case!!

The Moment We've All Been Waiting For!

We get at least one call a week asking the same question.
When is Andrew going to pop the question? Well, he finally did it!
He and Emily went to Hawaii for Christmas. On Dec. 28th they went for a walk along the beach and Andrew's best friends Micah and Ashleigh set up a blanket with flowers and champagne. When Andrew and Emily got there, Emily thought it was for someone else. She was pleasantly surprised when Andrew got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! After jumping up and down for awhile, Emily finally said YES!

Congratulations to you both!!!

Last session of the year

I've been home this week with my hubby. He had knee surgery on Monday and everything went well. Thank you to everyone who were praying for us! He is recovering well.

So today I am back at work for a few hours and I had my last session of the year!
Abby and Amy came in for Abby's 8 month session. She is so adorable! The biggest blue eyes you've ever seen. She loved the Christmas lights! (so much that she kept trying to eat them)

I also want to thank everyone that has come to our studio this year! We truly believe that we have the best clients in the world! We consider so many of you family and friends and we just want to thank you for being a part of our lives!
We look forward to a wonderful new year with all of you!
Love,
Jackie, Andrew, Barb and Penny!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!

One Cool Cat

This is Jamison and he's awsome! Andrew photographed this high school senior and couldn't stop talking about how cool he was. He said he was fun to work with and a super nice guy! Jamison is a drummer and was named after the dummer from the Allman Bros. Here are some more images from his session!

The Huckleberry Railroad

Well, did we get all that snow that they predicted?
No, we got maybe an inch of snow and an inch of ice. We were lucky not to get all that snow. We got just enough that it looks really beautiful outside.

This weekend, the Palmer family ventured out to Crossroads Village and went on the Huckleberry Railroad! This was my first time to this place, and I thought it was so great! The lights were beautiful, and the train ride was fun! This is a great place to take the kids. My nieces loved the train and all the lights that we saw.
There is even a store that is filled with all trains! I have never seen so many Thomas trains in my life! But all the kids in there were having so much fun playing!

Click here to go to their website and get their schedule for Christmas!

P.S. Make sure you bring all your winter gear! This is not an indoor adventure!

Let it Snow!

In the next 2 days, we are supposed to get 15 inches of snow! I hope they are wrong. Last year, they predicted something similar to this and we got an inch.
So, you never know!

We are running a gift certificate special for Christmas! For every $100 you spend, you receive a $25 bonus gift card. This special will go until December 22nd!
All gift certificates may be used on new sessions only.

We are all working hard to get everything ready for Christmas! And it is on it's way FAST!
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! I'll be back on Monday!

Baby, It's COLD Inside!

For the past week and a half, our studio has been without heat! While Andrew and I were in Utah, the boiler died. We were lucky that Penny and Barb were here to hear the smoke alarms go off, otherwise they say that this place would have gone up in flames!
So, we have been behind closed doors in our rooms with individual space heaters trying to keep warm. Jackets and gloves required!

Hopefully Monday we will have some relief!

Happy Halloween and Merry Christmas!

Halloween is the only day that you don't take a second look at the guy in the lane next to you that is wearing a clown outfit while driving his BMW:)
On my way home last night, every other car was driven by Batman, a Clown, The Strong Man or a Witch! I think I saw more adults dressed up than kids!
We had fewer trick-or-treaters than normal and more teenagers than normal. But it was fun to see all the costumes!

Today, we are getting ready for Christmas! When you have a photography studio, you're always celebrating Christmas for 2 or 3 months out of the year. I'm going to take my Christmas shopping trip to all the craft stores tonight and see what I can come up with this year for a Christmas set.

Have a good day!

Salt Lake City!

Andrew and I got back from Salt Lake City, Utah Wednesday night! We spoke at the IPPA convention on Tuesday afternoon. We had a great time and met some amazing photographers. We especially wanted to thank Allison Watkins for showing us around Salt Lake and being the best tour guide around! We hope to make it back there again and spend more time. What an amazingly beautiful place! Allison took us up to were she lives and WHAT A VIEW! From her living room you have a view of the mountains that is to die for! She is one lucky lady!

Jim and Stephanie

Congratulations to Jim and Steph!
The snow melted and the sun came out for this lucky couple! It was a gorgeous day and a wonderful wedding.
The highlights of the wedding for me were watching the flower girls do the Tango
down the halls of the church, the hard work of the Bridesmaides helping Steph get her dress on, the father of the bride tearing up before they walked down the aisle, the slideshow that made Jim tear up while watching baby pictures and family memories, and how Steph and Jim were up on this hill on the golf course freezing just to get that perfect shot! The reception was stunning and everyone danced along while Grandma and Grandpa cut a rug!

Thank you for a wonderful day Jim and Steph!
Congrats!

Snow?

We heard that there was going to be snow today, but this is not what we had in mind! This morning it was just a dusting.

After my session at 11:30 this is what it looked like outside!

Yesterday it was a gorgeous 60 degree Fall day, and now it's Winter!
It's still beautiful!
Enjoy shoveling!
